HISTORY
Piers was born somewhere in the 17th century just shortly after the massive crisis England, his birth country, went through as there was a civil war going on in England to that time. Though after the civil war, even if things were not too normal, the northern part of England settled down much more quicker. His parents, head of an aristocracy family and thus his father was lord of a rather large part of land, were rather strict with Piers, though he hardly saw his parents around. During his childhood, he had to master the basic things like writing, reading, calculating as those were qualities a noble must have to be accepted in this certain society and to become the head of the family later on.
I mean, who would accept a spoiled seeming brat who was not even able to read and manage the financial basics of their land? There would surely be a revolt if that would happen. Adding up to those normal lessons, Piers also had to take violin, riding, painting and later also fence lessons. Beside of the painting lessons, he did not enjoy the other lessons at all, always claiming they were too dull for him. After he painted his entire room, don't get me wrong, the room is ridiculously huge for a bedroom, in colorful, but strange patterns over night, he received quite the beating of his father, who told him he was supposed to be more serious, more rational and less focused on creativity.
But, Piers never did listen to that. Piers kept on painting, even after his father forbid it, all sorts of things, things that did not even match the painting style of this century. Though when he was about 17, close to having to take responsibilities of a lord, his father discovered all the confusing and, what he considered, weird paintings Piers had stored in the hay above the horse stalls. He burnt them all and abandoned Piers. After being kicked out of the family, Piers refused to just give up. He traveled through England, getting whatever money he could get by entertaining people, doing different bets and what not. With that money, he bought himself painting utensils for traveling. From then on, each time he traveled around again, he would paint on the open streets, however never forgetting his royal lines as he did his best to dress in the fancier, upper class clothes to impress potential costumers.
When he was then once again visiting London at the age of 26 years, he had to prove his skills -or whatever remained after all these years of not training- in swordsmanship, not even fencing! He tricked someone out once again, though this time did not evaluate the risk well enough and ended up having to fight a local drug dealer and his surrounding gang. Piers surprisingly managed to kill the boss, but was fatally wounded and fled from London. Though to that time, he was unaware of someone following him. Without his injuries getting treated properly, they also did not heal properly. The wounds got infected and just a few days afterwards, Piers was on the verge of death due to blood poison, his follower revealed himself. It was a vampire noble who offered to turn Piers as he was interested in his artistic talent and saw potential in his (dirty) way of battling. Piers was clinging to live back then, thus quickly agreed.
He died, just to raise up again as a vampire. The vampire noble, whose name was Albert Hudson, took Piers in as his 'trainee' you could say, though most of the times he was more of a servant or personal artist of Albert, though Albert did show him essential things of a vampire being, supplied him with blood and art supplies and encouraged and also spread his paintings -though only within the vampire society. Piers could have probably made it to a famous progenitor with his strength and knowledge, though he never did that due to not being passionate enough about fighting. Yet he did always like to play around with the small humans' lives, making them harder, tricking them into deals and all sorts of evil things. Shortly before the apocalypse, he traveled to Japan to visit his mentor. He was within Sanguinem as the apocalypse occurred and was slightly displeased as humans always found new material and ways of painting, he'd miss that. Though perhaps he won't have to miss that in the future seeing as there is the big big truce now.
